About the Hawaiʻi Broadband Hōʻike
Pūpūkahi i holomua—unite to move forward. The Hōʻike brings together community organizations, policymakers, and industry partners to explore how broadband drives opportunity, digital equity, and innovation across Hawaiʻi.
WCCHC Morning Program (9:00–11:00 AM)
WCCHC will showcase community-led efforts that expand access and skills for our West Oʻahu ʻohana, including:
- Lifeline for Waiʻanae Moku community Wi-Fi network
- Kūpuna Tech Workshops for hands-on digital help
- Tech Savvy Teens youth mentors bridging generations
Attendees will see how connectivity solutions tailored for our community strengthen access to health care, education, and opportunity—from keiki to kūpuna.
Afternoon Site Visits
1:00–2:00 PM • Puʻuhonua o Waiʻanae
A model of community-built housing and broadband equity, featuring Hawaiʻi’s second community-operated broadband network serving nearly 150 formerly houseless residents.
2:30–3:30 PM • Department of Hawaiian Home Lands
Discussion and debrief: Native Hawaiian Culture & Broadband—how to expand infrastructure in ways that honor cultural values, with stories and short videos from beneficiaries on the homelands.
